
Patsy Lawing – Office Manager
Patsy began part time at McGill in 1989 and around 2000 became the full time secretary. She is a Northwest Cabarrus and Central Piedmont Community College graduate. Patsy and her husband, Steve, have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. She loves her 3 goats and many cats!

Lindsay Karbach – Minister of Music & Christian Education
Lindsay has served at McGill since 2009. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (2012) and a Master of Divinity (2025). She enjoys paddle boarding with her husband, Jay, and hiking with their dog, Hoover. Lindsay loves how music is a wonderful part of worship, and she enjoys teaching the youth about God’s love through devotions, service, and Bible study!

Courtney Riley – Director of Children’s Ministry
When Courtney Riley joined McGill Baptist Church in 2006, she was excited to find a church that was focused on the love of God and sharing it with others. As the Director of Children’s Ministries, she hopes to help our next generation also understand how they fit into God’s plan! She is married to Phillip, a lifelong member of McGill, and they have a son, John, who enjoys the children’s program here. When she isn’t here at McGill, she is teaching Visual Arts at Rea Farms STEAM Academy or painting a mural or rock somewhere in Charlotte!

Steve Harmon- Interim Pastor
Steve Harmon is Professor of Historical Theology at Gardner-Webb University School of Divinity and previously served on the faculties of Campbell University Divinity School and Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School; he has also served as pastor of churches in his native Texas and interim pastor of churches in North Carolina. He earned the Bachelor of Arts from Howard Payne University, the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and pursued additional graduate studies at The Catholic University of America and the University of Dallas. Steve is the author or editor of ten books, most recently Encountering Pope Leo XIV: Baptist Reflections on the Beginning of a Pontificate. Steve is married to Kheresa Harmon, who serves as Minister for Children and Their Families at St. John’s Baptist Church in Charlotte, and they are the parents of a son, Timothy, who is a student at Central Piedmont Community College.
